Children’s Day is next Sunday, when the children of First Church lead worship in the sanctuary at 10:00 AM.  Steve Blunt will direct the music and the action for this year’s Children’s Day Worship Celebration. Children in the 3-year old classes through the MAD are busy learning their songs and preparing the program for the morning service.

Volunteers Needed for Summer Program – The end of each Sunday school year marks the beginning of Summer Activity Time for First Church children in grades 1-6.  Each Sunday children are invited to join their parents in the sanctuary for worship at 9:00 AM, leaving after the Children’s Message and going to the dining room. Childcare is available for infants-age 5 throughout the worship service.

Volunteers are needed to make this program a valuable experience for the children of First Church.  If you can lead or help with an activity or provide childcare any Sunday, June 17 through August 26, please sign up at the CE Corner in Fellowship Hall or call the church office.  You may sign up to help on one Sunday or as many as you like.

Learn about the Golden Era of Silent Films
Saturday, June 16 – 7:00 PM – The First Church Dining Room

You are invited to a night of (silent) movies and munchies sponsored by the First Church Entrepreneurial Team.  The evening will include two films (one redone on Blue-ray, the other on DVD) as well as a short talk on the art and history of silent films, led by Jeff Rapsis, formerly of Nashua.

A silent film historian, Jeff is passionate about educating on the art and how we came from that media to the movies of today.  Shown will be “Sherlock Jr” (25 minutes) and “Camera Man” (45 minutes), both featuring Buster Keaton. Both are comedies about the making of films during that time.  There will be a short intermission.  This is a family event, appropriate for all ages, so please bring the entire family!

Tickets are on sale each Sunday after services and are $12/pp, $10/over 65.  Students are free.  Childcare for those 6 years old and under will be provided.  With your ticket comes a bag of popcorn and a cold can of soda/water.  Come and join us for a great night of family entertainment.  Contact Caryl Sullivan, 881-7322, with any questions.
