Holiday Fair 2009

FIRST CHURCH HOLIDAY FAIR  2009 UPDATE

What a wonderful community we have at First Church!  Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the Fair and the resulting income of $8716 and counting.

Thanks to all the men who quickly helped set up and break down all the tables and saved our backs.  Curt and Jim set up that large sign on the lawn in front of the flagpole to advertise the event.  John gave us much more space by setting up white craft walls.

Many of you knit items to help bring in almost $900 from the knit table.  Marty created lovely jewelry.  Sue E. and Craig Neth did a great job with the church website.  After Maribeth and her crew set it up, the Darrin’s and McManus’es helped run the “New to You” tables, downstairs, that was an experiment that worked well.  Arlene handed out samples of her yummy bean soup and her daughter, Donna made the addictive pretzel kisses that were included in gift boxes.  Jacqui, Judy, Pat, Lois, Mishelle, Taylor, Jamie, and Meghan helped serve coffee, pastries, and/or lunch.

Church crafters Bea, Kay, Jacqui, Gwyn, Bernice, Pat, Terri, Betty, Maribeth, Linda, Penny and Joan created items all year long and Carolyn, Trish, and Kay “walked the streets” asking for donations for the auction resulting in 45 of them!  And, of course, Carol and Beth and Linda and Joan organized the calls to the women of the church to bake all those delicious goodies that brought in over $1,380!!  We won’t forget Dick in his cheese hat faithfully selling the yummy aged cheese.

Thanks to all and thanks for making the fair a fun and profitable event!  Come see us next year on November 6, 2010!
