FIRST MUSIC brings music to the community and the community into our doors with affordable, interesting, and quality music programming. On October 19, 2008, the FIRST MUSIC Concert Series expanded its annual music offerings to five exciting programs per season, furthering music outreach to our city and region.  Our patrons are truly pleased to find another outlet where fine music is tangible and affordable for an audience of all ages. Under this new format, we are pleased to welcome not only church members, but also numerous people from the surrounding region, many of whom enter The First Church for the first time!

Please join us this season, as the FIRST MUSIC Concert Series collaborates with regional professional music organizations Nashua Symphony Association, the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and community arts staple Actorsingers, in celebrating the musical diversity of the Gate City, and the rich musical heritage found at The First Church of Nashua.

Vocal and instrumental artists from across the United States will bring their musical talents to FIRST MUSIC in a wide variety of literature spanning manycenturies. The Chamber Series of the Nashua Symphony Orchestra will continue to be co-produced within the FIRST MUSIC 2010-2011 season, with select programs welcoming principal musicians from the orchestra- up close and personal- who will offer exciting afternoons of chamber music.

Our third season offers four Sunday afternoon concerts, and one musical offering within Sunday worship.  The resounding success of integrating Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria in D Major into worship services on “Christmas Sunday” (4th Advent) in 2008  and Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols in 2009 continues in that tradition with the 2010 offering of the Pergolesi-Durante Magnificat- a seldom-performed choral masterpiece- interwoven into the fabric of this festival worship service, with chamber orchestra, choir and soloists.

Whether choosing strings or voice, Bach, Barber or Brahms, classical music or classic musical theatre, or even a myriad of organ composers spanning three centuries, FIRST MUSIC Concert Series offers something for everyone within the wider Nashua community. From free concert programs, to more formal ticketed concerts – the choice is yours.
