Youth Ministry

In addition to the opportunities listed under Christian Education and Music, First Church has active Junior and Senior High Fellowships. Both groups meet primarily on Sundays, September – June, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. A staff of energetic, well-trained adults leads the Youth Fellowships.Fellowship programs include four basic elements: outreach, worship, learning, and recreation. A given meeting may focus on just one of these elements, or involve all four. The goal is to reach a balance during the program year.

SPIRIT

All 7th and 8th graders are invited to participate in SPIRIT. SPIRIT (Serving, PrayIng RejoicIng Together) is fun and fellowship for everyone in grades 7 and 8. The name pretty much sums up what happens each Sunday night in the dining room of First Church when students in grades 7 and 8 gather for fun, food and frolic. See the SPIRIT page for details.

CHAOS (Christ Honored and Others Served)

All youth in grades 9-12 are invited to join in the CHAOS. See the CHAOS page for more details.

Basketball

Eveyone in grades 7-12 is welcome to try out of the First Church Basketball Team, part of the YMCA Church League. Contact coaches Alan Brown or Randy Wilson for dates and details.

Cheerleaders

Beth Hirsch, First Church Cheerleading Coach, calls all interested youth to signup for the cheerleading squad. If you’re in grade 7-12 and would like to have an active role in cheering on the First Church Basketball Team this winter, contact Beth at 886-3847 or bethhirsch@aol.com.
