Child Care — for infants through two year olds is available during worship every Sunday of the year in the nursery suite located downstairs beneath the sanctuary. All care is provided by volunteer adults with trained teenage assistants.

Sunday School — Sundays, 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. – from the third Sunday in September through the second Sunday in June. Children may be enrolled at the registration table after worship in early September or by calling the church office at any time during the year.

Children stay with the same class until the following September and do not move up on their birthdays. This is sometimes a point of confusion for proud birthday girls and boys.

Children in grades two and under meet their parents at their classrooms at 11:15 a.m. Teachers will not dismiss a child until a parent arrives.

Nursery care begins at 9:45am for infant through two year olds. Children in the 3 year old through grade 2 classes, as well as grades 7-8, may go directly to their classrooms between 9:45-10:00am. Grades 3-6 begin in Shaw Chapel with Worship Warm Up at 9:45am and Worship at 10:00am.

On the last Sunday of each month children age 3 and older worship in the Sanctuary with their parents. Following the second hymn they leave for their regular Sunday School class.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE 2011-2012 Sunday School Year

Christmas Pageant – Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 11:30 AM. The annual telling of the Christmas story by the children of First Church. Following the pageant, refreshments will be served in the dining room. Sunday School parents are asked to bring a plate of finger foods to share (e.g., sandwiches, crackers and cheese, cookies, fruit). Beverages are provided by the CE Board.

Vacation Bible School - July 9-13, 2012.  This is a lively, action packed week for to age 4 through grade 7. Activities include worship, music, drama, dance, crafts, stories and outdoor activities.
