The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey C. Evans
Rev. Evans is a 1974 Northeastern University graduate with a BS in History. He earned his M.Div. in 1977 from Bangor Theological Seminary and was ordained later in that same year. Jeff earned his D.Min. from Andover Newton Theological School in 1988. After serving parishes in Vermont and New Hampshire Jeff was called to First Church as Associate Minister in April of 1985.
The Rev. Dr. Andrew M. Gilman
Rev. Gilman joined our staff in May as the Transitional Minister of Preaching and Pastoral Care. He is the primary preacher during this season of transition, assists Rev. Jeff in providing pastoral care, and provides staff support to committees as needed.
An ordained minister of the United Church of Christ, Andy earned his Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School and later returned and earned a Doctor of Theology degree. He began serving as an ordained parish minister in 1972 and has served as the settled pastor in Randolph, Vermont, Stratham and Meredith, New Hampshire, and North Andover, Massachusetts. He has also served as the interim minister to three other churches in New Hampshire.
Andy lives in Stratham with his wife Connie.
Joseph R. Olefirowicz, CAGO
Mr. Olefirowicz is a native of Methuen, MA . Serving various church and choral organizations throughout the Merrimack Valley and Upstate New York in his youth, he graduated from Ithaca College in 1994 with a BA in Direction for the Musical Stage. After graduation, he was based in Germany for 14 years, and began his work with First Church on June 1, 2008. Podium engagements at opera houses, symphony orchestras, and musical theatres include Vienna, Berlin, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Duesseldorf, Bochum and Nordhausen. He is privileged to remain active in the 14/15 season at the Vienna Volksoper, with debuts at the Munich Symphony and State Operas of Hannover and Braunschweig.
Diane E. Matthes
Coordinator of Christian Education
Diane has been a resident of Nashua for 36 years and a member of First Church for 30 years. She has been the full time Sunday School Superintendent since 2003. Working with the Minister of Christian Education, she is responsible for administering the furtherance of the spiritual life of the children and youth of the church through the Sunday School program. Diane is one of the Founding Directors of The Center of Excellence in Christian Education.
Catherine N. Lovas
Transitional Coordinator of Youth Ministries
First Church Members for more than 20 years, Cathy, and her family have been active participants in the Church community. A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Cathy has joined the First Church staff to help with the coordination of Junior and Senior High youth programs, including Our Whole Lives, and mission trip planning.
Pamela J. Hickey
Administrative Assistant/Financial Secretary
Pam joined the First Church staff in 1985. She serves as Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary. Pam is also the Personal Secretary to the Senior Minister. A native of Gloucester, MA, Pam and her husband have been residents of Nashua since 1970. Together they have raised two sons and are the grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters.
Susan T. Englander
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Sue joined the First Church staff in January 2004. She is the person who greets you when you call or visit the church office. Sue also maintains the church calendar, schedules events, edits the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter and maintains the calendar and news pages on the church website.
