The Rev. James S. Chaloner
Reverend Chaloner is a Nashua native. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in history in 1970. Jim earned a M.Div. degree from Bangor Theological Seminary in 1979 and was ordained in that same year. He was called to First Church as Associate Minister in 1979 and was called as the church’s 22nd Senior Minister in 1984.
The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey C. Evans
Rev. Evans is a 1974 Northeastern University graduate with a BS in History. He earned his M.Div. in 1977 from Bangor Theological Seminary and was ordained later in that same year. Jeff earned his D.Min. from Andover Newton Theological School in 1988. After serving parishes in Vermont and New Hampshire Jeff was called to First Church as Associate Minister in April of 1985.
Patricia C. Harris, M. Ed.
A native of Nashua, Pat holds a Master of Education degree in Religious Education from Boston College, as well as a certificate of Advanced Biblical Studies from Notre Dame College. She was called to First Church in April of 1989 and commissioned as a United Church of Christ Minister of Christian Education that same year. Previously Ms. Harris had served as Coordinator of Christian Education and Youth for the New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ. Pat is one of the Founding Directors of The Center of Excellence in Christian Education.
Joseph R. Olefirowicz, CAGO
Mr. Olefirowicz is a native of Methuen , MA . Serving various church and choral organizations throughout the Merrimack Valley and Upstate New York in his youth, he graduated from Ithaca College in 1994 with a BA in Direction for the Musical Stage. After graduation, he was based in Germany for 14 consecutive years, as a solo artist and conductor on the European continent and United States. Podium engagements at major opera houses, symphony orchestras, and musical theatres include Vienna, Berlin, Leipzig, Stuttgart, DÃ¼sseldorf, Bochum and Nordhausen.
Joe began his work with First Church on June 1, 2008. He remains active as a solo artist, and is privileged to remain a conductor on the roster of the Vienna Volksoper.
Susan T. Englander
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Sue joined the First Church staff in January 2004. She is the person who greets you when you call or visit the church office. Sue also maintains the church calendar, schedules events, edits the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter and maintains the calendar and news pages on the church website. Contact Sue with general questions, to schedule an event, or to submit an article for the weekly bulletin (by Wednesday noon) or the monthly newsletter (by the second Monday of the month).
Sunday School Superintendent
Diane has been a resident of Nashua for 36 years and a member of First Church for 30 years. She has been the full time Sunday School Superintendent since 2003. Working with the Minister of Christian Education, she is responsible for administering the furtherance of the spiritual life of the children and youth of the church through the Sunday School program. Diane is one of the Founding Directors of The Center of Excellence in Christian Education.
Pamela J. Hickey
Administrative Assistant/Financial Secretary
Pam joined the First Church staff in 1985. She serves as Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary. Pam is also the Personal Secretary to the Senior Minister. A native of Gloucester, MA, Pam and her husband have been residents of Nashua since 1970. Together they have raised two sons and are the grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters.
