Outreach on Sundays
The Board of Christian Outreach hosts an Outreach Booth on Sundays providing information on various local and denominational outreach ministries. The Board also looks to receive ideas for new outreach programs.
On Sundays church members are invited to bring non-perishable food items which are regularly delivered to the food pantries at the Pastoral Care Center. There is also an information board in Chapel Hall where information on denominational and local mission programs is posted.
Parish Nurse Ministry – The third Sunday of each month
The Parish Nurse team will host a blood pressure clinic and an information booth after the 10 a.m. worship service (after the 9:00 a.m. worship service during the summer).
Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network (GNIHN) - This program provides food, shelter and fellowship to homeless families. The Anne Marie House, on the grounds of Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, serves as the permanent day/evening center. Volunteers are needed during the year. First Church and Temple Beth Abraham have joined to host as Nashua East. To find out more about the program or to volunteer stop by the Outreach Booth or call the First Church office/882-4861.
Social Justice Subcommittee – This subcommittee’s purpose is to faithfully respond to the prophet Micah’s call to “do justice, love kindness and to walk humbly before God.” This group seeks to educate and implement programs addressing issues of peace, in its many incarnations, environmental stewardship, and making sure all are welcomed at Christ’s great banquet table. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
