First Music Concert Series
Beginning October 19, 2008, as the International Year of the Pipe Organ is in full swing, the Pipe Organ Spectacular sponsored by the American Guild of Organists and its local, national and international chapters will sweep the United States and other countries with organ concerts all over the world.
Coinciding with this day, the First Music Concert Series will open its doors for the first time under its revised concept: expanding its music offerings in the community to five exciting concerts per season.
Bringing music to the community and the community into the doors of First Church, with affordable, interesting, and quality music offerings is an ambitious step towards furthering music outreach to our city and region. This season, vocal and instrumental artists from across the United States will bring their musical talents to First Church in varied, enjoyable programs. Mostly in Sunday afternoon concert programs, but also starting a new tradition at First, where "Christmas Sunday" (4th Sunday of Advent) will include a smaller oratorio presentation each year within the church's morning worship services.
Please join us this season, as the First Music Concert Series joins with other arts organizations in the community: the Nashua Symphony Association and the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, in celebrating the musical diversity of the Gate City, and the rich musical heritage found at the First Church of Nashua.
Whether choosing Vivaldi, Gilbert & Sullivan, J. S. Bach, or a myriad of organ composers spanning four centuries, the First Music Concert Series offers something for everyone: striving to offer enjoyable and affordable music presentations to the wider community. From free concert programs, to more formal ticketed concerts - the choice is yours.
